Steckler completes Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training

Bismarck, ND – Pvt. 2 John B. Steckler of Jamestown, N.D., has completed Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training for the North Dakota Army National Guard.
Steckler attended Basic Combat Training for 10 weeks at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo, and then continued on to Advanced Individual Training which consisted of 6 weeks of military occupational schooling also at Fort Leonard Wood, graduating December 16, 2011.
Prior to his training, Steckler was assigned to the Recruit Training Company in Fargo, N.D., which prepared him for his military training by learning basic combat and Soldier tasks. Since the completion of his training, Steckler has been assigned to 817th Sappers in Jamestown as a Combat Engineer (12B).
Steckler graduated from Jamestown High School in 2011. Steckler’s parents are Jerry and Debra Steckler of Jamestown, N.D.
Steckler’s brothers, Jared Ritchie and Brett Ritchie also serve in the North Dakota Army National Guard and his brother Matt Steckler serves in the United States Navy.
